Great
food, great wine, and great service is "New Wind Restaurant"and
what Chef Tuan is all about. “New Wind Restaurant” opened in
2001 and was two times
winner of
the Stonnington Business Awards for Restaurants (2003 and
2004).
Other recent articles where New Wind have received local and
national recognition include the The Age’s Cheap Eats
Guides, being recommended to Australians as one of the
top restaurants with top quality and low price foods. “New
Wind Restaurant” quickly became known to the locals and
visitors to Melbourne that this restaurant specializing in
Vietnamese and Thai cuisine was a "must" spot to dine. The
dream of a lifetime, we wanted a place where we could work
together, draw from a culinary background and focus on their
passion "Cooking". Of the utmost importance to us is to share
with our guests the love of fine food and create an atmosphere
where they can relax and enjoy a level of hospitality that
makes for a memorable dining experience.

Chef Tuan has lived in
Australia for 10 years. He has lots of experience in
hospitality industry. And his skill and dedication results in
the success of New Wind Restaurant. Apart from cooking, Tuan
also entertains diners with his piano and paintings that
decorated the wall of “New Wind Restaurant”
“New Wind Restaurant” design
approach is an open plan where the guests can capture a glance
of each of the adjacent spaces throughout the restaurant.
Chefs Tuan wanted to have a touch of Asian charm and the flare
of the modern Western bistro reflected in the design of his
restaurant. A large plasma TV in the corner of the restaurant
was selected because of the playful expression of the modern
style, with an eclectic twist. Delicate soft mood lighting is
used to highlight the original paintings done by Tuan. A piano
in the corner also deliberately choosen to complement the
artistic feeling. The overall décor of the restaurant is done
in warm apricot colors of orange and natural shades of black
which is softened by greenery. The combination of the colors
and the open feeling of the restaurant creates an atmosphere
of warmth and historic charm for the guests of “New Wind
Restaurant”, where they may enjoy fine food, a selection of
fine wines and a heightened level of hospitality.
